What I Thought:
I was very excited about this book when I first heard about it and then read the blurb. A strong female character, and a bounty hunter to boot? Sign me up! I knew there was going to a strong element of the forbidden, due to the conflicting natures of both Raide and Grace, but I wasn't expecting it to take so many turns.

Grace is really a strong character. I admired her for wanting to do what she loved. It felt wrong she was willing to do the same job as everyone else but she was being sidelined due to her sex. I loved how she was confident in herself, even when being told otherwise by those who should have supported her instead of tearing her down. While I thought Grace should use the weapons at her disposal to bring in Raide, I never thought the weapon she chose to use would end up working.

When it comes to Raide, yes he's this hot, attractive bad boy, but there was more to him. Once his story came out, I realized that he was alright. He wasn't some crazed killer but someone who was hurting and looking for retribution for a number of wrongs done to him and those he loved. I did feel the attraction between him and Grace but I didn't see when and where that led to love. I liked Grace and Raide together. It seemed like they really complimented each other well.

When it comes to the chase, it was both tense and yet still full of humor. There were moments that made me chuckle and even a few the wrenched my heart. There were also a couple of twists I didn't see coming. For the most part the book focuses on Grace and Raide and everything that's happening between them before transitioning to a romantic suspense. I liked how the suspense element was gradually introduced into the story.  I enjoyed those moments as well as the ones between Grace and her friends, whether she was getting advice from a co-worker or her best friend. One thing I did notice is a feeling of deja-vu towards the end of the book. I felt like I'd either read this book before or a very similar story. I'm already looking forward to the next story in the Alpha's Heart series.
